About the Recipe

Golden milk turmeric lattes are a cozy delicious alternative to plain coffee and packed with all kinds of health benefits. Basically, it’s like warm liquid sunshine in a cup with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a kick of flavor that will give you a nice boost! A cup of this turmeric latte recipe is the perfect way to kickstart the day.

Ingredients

FOR THE GOLDEN MILK PASTE 1 tsp. turmeric powder Pinch freshly ground black pepper 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 tbsp. water

FOR THE LATTE 2 1/2 c. brewed coffee 1 1/3 c. unsweetened almond milk 4 drops pure vanilla extract 1/2 tsp. honey 2 tsp. coconut oil

Make the golden milk paste: Combine turmeric, pepper, cinnamon and water, stirring to form a paste. Set aside.

Make the latte: Combine coffee, almond milk, vanilla, honey and coconut oil in a blender. Add 1 teaspoon golden milk paste. Blend until frothy and thoroughly combined.

Pour into mugs and serve.


tips

  1. Check that your spices aren’t stale for maximum flavor and benefits. Rub a little of the spice between your fingers, if there is only a faint aroma it’s time to get new spices.

  2. Made an iced turmeric latte! I love drinking this hot but you can easily add some ice and cool it down a bit, too.

  3. Whisk it well. If you do use a whisk, make sure that you whisk it well and fast. To get that frothy texture, you need to whisk quickly.

  4. Don’t forget to garnish. The added little pinch of cinnamon on top really enhances the flavor!
